====== Jumpgate ======

A jumpgate is a stationary, large-scale [[ship propulsion|wave inception system]], generally owned and operated by the local system power. Most planetary systems have at least one public jumpgate with an associated traffic control tower or [[AI]] to schedule departures in an orderly manner. Most non-capital ships without an associated carrier will make heavy use of jumpgates to travel between far-flung systems, as trying to putter around on ion drives is a good way to arrive [[travel times|dead of old age]].
